The work of Internal Roads within the MIHAN Project is in progress, The total length of internal road network is about 51 km, along with storm water drains on both sides. The road network will be of 2, 3, 4 and 6 lane roads.
The Main six lane entrance road is concrete road and other roads are bitumen roads.
Construction of Flyover Interchange at the Junction of NH-7 and ROB across Central Railway Track which will lead to the MIHAN Project area is in full swing.
MADC has proposed to setup a 200 MW (4 X 50 MW) coal based Power Plant within the MIHAN, SEZ, with a provision of 25MW Back up diesel generator sets as startup power for the main unit and for emergency use. The Power Plant will cover an area of about 60 Hectares.
The proposal is to have an uninterrupted quality power supply to the units in the SEZ area at a competitive rate. The Power Plant will have permissible voltage fluctuation 5%. Because of the benefits of the SEZ, the project cost will go down by about 30% and also the cost of power to the end user will be economical.
The power plant project is being established on Build, Own and Transfer (BOT) basis on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) principle. A competent BOT player has been appointed for establishing the power plant and to carry out the transmission and distribution network in the MIHAN area.
MADC is developing a dual water supply in MIHAN area. The raw water will be taken from Wadgaon Reservoir, which is about 34 km away from the MIHAN area. The total water demand is categorized as domestic and non-domestic demand to identify areas of reuse and recirculation of water.
The domestic demand for water is estimated at 16.50 MLD and non – domestic demand is about 74.50 MLD. The water supply system is designed to cater to the water needs upto year 2030. The domestic water quality will match with Singapore water quality.
With the aim of reducing the fresh water consumption, the method of recycling and reuse of treated sewage water generated within the project area is adopted.
Besides the MIHAN project is blessed with two natural water lakes namely Dahegaon & Telhara, which falls within the project area. These lakes will be deepened, beautified and used as reservoirs to store water for the project.
The sewage generated from the MIHAN project will be collected and treated, Its quality is expected to be about 39 MLD. It will be treated in a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and this treated sewage will be combined with 38 MLD of fresh water. Thus 77 MLD of water will be used for satisfying the non-domestic demand of water after treating it in Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP).
The recycling of treated sewage will reduce the consumption of fresh water by about 30 MLD. Hence even though the total water requirement of the project area is 91 MLD, only 60 MLD of fresh water pumping is essential.
Construction of Storm Water Drainage in MIHAN area has started. It consists of about 10 km channels and 9 no. Cross Drainage works.
The State-of-the-art Telecommunication Network has been designed for the MIHAN project in coordination with M/s. TATA Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd. The construction of telecommunication cable duct and laying of three 96 core Optical Fiber cable covering an area of about 51Kms is being carried out by M/s. DURA-LINE India Pvt. Ltd.
Fiber optical cables are being used for the entire project. Three reputed service providers will be allowed to operate within the MIHAN area to provide quality service to the end users.
Telephone Exchange Building
As part of infrastructure an exclusive telephone exchange building is designed and
construction contract for this is awarded. The telephone exchange building will
house the equipments for providing telecommunication services of the three service
providers that will be allowed to operate in MIHAN project. An exclusive communication
tower for these three service providers will be constructed within the premises
of the Telephone Exchange Building
The development of Street Lighting System in the MIHAN project being done SWISS CHALLENGE basis and this work has been awarded to M/s. Bajaj Electricals Ltd.
MADC is also developing a Central Facility building which will consist of the project office and all related administration offices like Development Commissioners office, Post Office, Banks, Customs and Excise office, Insurance agencies and other related agencies, which will provide supporting services to the units operating in the MIHAN, SEZ area.
The building will be three staggered main blocks of the building connected to each other by two central core blocks. The built-up area of the building will be around 22,200 Sq. mtr. The main columns are aligned such that on a grid they make a "W" shape in elevation. Due to which each floor gets different areas at different floors. The building is located at the main entrance of the SEZ.
Thus in this project attempt have been made to achieve the development along with the resource conservation which emphases that, "OUR GOAL IS TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT".
The Environmental Clearance for MIHAN and related infrastructure has been obtained from Ministry of Environment & Forest.
