Amravati is an another important Tier-III city of Maharashtra State.
It is one of the major market place of Maharashtra and has lots of businesses like fruits, food grains, medicine, cotton and textiles.
This city in particular has business relations to various other cities of India like Indore, Bhopal, Haiderabad, Ahemadabad, Surat and so on.

The GoM is developing a huge SEZ on Amravati-Nagpur National Highway No. – 6, just 20 Km. from Amravati airport.
It has connectivity from various cities only by road and trains. The GoM has taken decision to develop a commercial airport by expanding the existing airstrip.

MADC is acquiring about 400 Ha. of land for developing this airport and related facilities at an estimated cost of Rs. 225 Crores.
